BNP evaluates and approves products used in apron, air cargo, air express/mail, and baggage handling systems and operations in airports. Approval from a third-party agency is one of the contingencies for meeting the specifications for these types of installations – both in greenfield and brownfield construction. Consumers would see these systems, commonly, used to transport baggage behind check-in kiosks, and in baggage claim areas. Generally, these systems require, and use, small-horsepower motors and drives. BNP has issued to ABB an official letter of approval.
